To maintain appropriate access control and data security, the following practices must be followed when managing Slack access.
Avoid adding via Slack Connect Slack Connect creates cross-workspace access that cannot be reliably limited or audited
Do not add members to channels “just in case” or “for visibility”
Channel access must be:
Relevant to the member’s current role
Limited to the duration of that role
Extra access increases noise and risk and should be avoided
Guest users must not be upgraded to Full Members unless membership has been formally approved
Temporary or event-based access must remain guest-scoped
